Get started

Follow the server README for its supported transport, installation, credentials and client configuration. Compatibility depends on the client and server transport; no individual client has been runtime-tested by this directory.

Setup takes place on the publisher’s site. Some tools require accounts, API keys, a compatible host or paid services. Review permissions before connecting.

Requirements

Cursor and Node.js 20 or later with node and npx on PATH. A Pinecone API key is required to manage or query indexes; documentation search works without a key. Only indexes with integrated inference are supported. Service costs and quotas are not verified by this directory.

Follow Configure Cursor in the publisher README. Add the documented @pinecone-database/mcp command to the project’s .cursor/mcp.json, supply your Pinecone API key privately when accessing indexes, and check its status in Cursor Settings. The README also describes global configuration.

Publisher-documented Cursor local command integration for Pinecone development. Indexes without integrated inference, Assistants, standalone embeddings and vector search are outside this server’s stated support.
