What it does
Tavily’s MCP server gives AI assistants web search, content extraction, site mapping and crawling tools.
Get started
Follow the server README for its supported transport, installation, credentials and client configuration. Compatibility depends on the client and server transport; no individual client has been runtime-tested by this directory.
Setup takes place on the publisher’s site. Some tools require accounts, API keys, a compatible host or paid services. Review permissions before connecting.
Connect with Cursor
Requirements
Cursor, Node.js with npx for the documented mcp-remote bridge, and a Tavily account to complete OAuth. The local-server section separately specifies Node.js 20+. Service costs and quotas are not verified by this directory.
Follow Remote MCP Server OAuth Flow and its Cursor example. Add the documented mcp-remote connection for https://mcp.tavily.com/mcp to Cursor’s MCP configuration and complete the account authorization flow. The API-key installation path is documented separately; this selected path avoids putting an API key into the URL.
Publisher explicitly gives Cursor as the OAuth client example using a local mcp-remote bridge to the hosted Tavily service. Runtime and authentication were not exercised.
Source checked 2026-10-14. Primary-source Cursor instructions, setup-page HTTP availability and exact HTML section anchor checked; installation, authentication and runtime behavior not tested.
